Urologic Evaluation
Your urologic evaluation may include:
Diagnostic Imaging – This may include an ultrasound of the urinary system or prostate, CT scans of the abdomen and pelvis, X-rays of urinary tract (KUB).
Cystoscopy – Used as a diagnostic tool to assess the lower urinary tract for any flexible structural abnormalities, such as stones, polyps, strictures, or tumors. A small scope is inserted into the bladder, allowing visualization of the urethra, bladder, and ureteric orifices.
Urodynamic Study – Used to evaluate bladder function. This is extremely useful in determining treatment options for Overactive Bladder, Incontinence and Urgency.
Pressure-flow Study – Used to evaluate the strength of the bladder as well as the strength of the urinary flow to determine the degree of obstruction caused by various urologic conditions. It is used to evaluate the effectiveness of prescribed treatment and to determine the best treatment options for BPH.
